Chronology before interpretation.
Decades are a discovery tool. Chronology is the investigation. We examine an artist's output in release order so later songs cannot secretly rewrite what earlier songs meant.
Every IWL artist chronology follows this order
01 Artist origin — name, formation, original members, historical context.
02 Albums in original release order — dates, versions, and source provenance.
03 Songs in album track order — the narrator, addressee, transaction, symbols and changes.
04 Chronological takeaway — what developed, what disappeared and what contradicts earlier interpretations.
05 Artist synthesis — submission, resistance, witness, recruitment, liberation or unknown as narrative roles, not allegations about musicians.
06 Cross-artist convergence — independent comparisons against other catalogs, common influences and control cases.
The Unknown Hand and Alien Warlord are explicit interpretive hypotheses that can be tested here, not required answers. A chronological pass can also produce misses and contradictions.
