The Idol Ledger
A research index for narrative roles in music—not a list of real people accused of secret allegiance. Every classification must identify its source, speaker, chronology and alternative reading.
Read the participation principles →A separate room in The Inside War
The War Room investigates the machinery. The House of Remorse asks what happens to people caught inside systems of fear, obedience, silence and regret—and how they might recover their voice.
Not every song describes a real-world bargain. Not every narrator is the artist. And no repeated symbol alone proves that a musician submitted to an unidentified operator. This room examines those questions without assigning guilt from interpretation.
We distinguish a character's submission, an artist's documented professional constraints, and the wider Unknown Hand / Alien Warlord hypothesis. The first is a narrative reading; the second can sometimes be documented; the third remains unverified.
Free to read. The participatory features below are planned, not live.

Read the participation principles →An evidence-led examination of gatekeepers, contracts, institutional incentives and authority. Name real individuals or organizations only when supported by reliable documentary evidence.
Read the participation principles →Compare submission, resistance, bargains and redemption across rock, pop, hip-hop, soul, country, metal and traditions outside English-language music, with genre controls.
Read the participation principles →A proposed space for accounts of regret, coercion, silence and repair. It is not accepting submissions yet. Future submissions require privacy controls, moderation, explicit publication consent and removal mechanisms.
Read the participation principles →A future collection of songs, poems and artwork about recovering agency. Submission and display are not active; contributors will retain ownership and choose whether they appear publicly.
Read the participation principles →An eventual optional writing assistant to help participants reflect on difficult experiences. It must not diagnose, pressure confessions or pronounce guilt, and must show its limitations.
Read the participation principles →A framework for voluntary reflection, accountability and practical restitution where appropriate. No one has to confess or accept a particular worldview to belong here.
Read the participation principles →Participation will be voluntary. No public confession is required; no one is labeled a perpetrator, victim, recruit or member of a secret organization based on a song interpretation. Claims about identifiable people require evidence and moderation review.
Privacy before publication: no public submission forms or anonymous confession storage are enabled in this preview. Any later Confession Wall will need clear consent, retention limits, deletion requests, abuse reporting and special handling of sensitive disclosures.
Evidence before verdict: artistic roles are not biographies. The Unknown Hand and Alien Warlord remain working interpretive hypotheses, not findings about real people.
Creative freedom: participants can disagree with the lens, write their own interpretation, or walk away.
