PASS C — THE HAND / VOICE LEDGER

Who speaks? Through what interface? Who verifies the voice?

PASS C METHOD

Do not merge speakers because later interpretation merges them.

Record direct speech, messenger, dream, vision, prophet, spirit, sign, written law, institution, temptation and apocalyptic intermediary as different interfaces.

Separate claimed source from verified source.

Miracle, sign, religious title and Scripture quotation are not standalone authentication.

Unknown Hand remains a finding category, not an identity claim.

Where parallel texts attribute an event differently, preserve the difference.

PASS C — VOICE CLASSES

DIRECT / NARRATED DIVINE VOICE: Creation, garden, Sinai and Job's whirlwind are presented as direct divine speech inside their narratives.

MESSENGER VOICE: Hagar, burning bush, Judges annunciations, Gabriel and Revelation show messages moving through angelic intermediaries.

DREAM / VISION: Jacob, Joseph, Pharaoh, Solomon, Ezekiel, Daniel, Zechariah, Matthew and Acts repeatedly use altered-perception interfaces.

HUMAN PROPHET: Moses, Samuel, Nathan, Elijah, Isaiah, Jeremiah and others transmit claimed authority while remaining human interpreters.

COUNTERFEIT / RIVAL VOICE: Serpent, Egyptian specialists, false prophets, tempter, false apostles and Revelation's false prophet create a continuous authentication problem.

INSTITUTIONAL VOICE: Kings, heralds, councils, courts and decrees can speak with coercive force even when no supernatural source is claimed.

HOSTILE BUT PARTLY TRUTHFUL VOICE: Balaam's constrained speech, demons identifying Jesus, and adversarial speakers complicate any rule that truth in one statement authenticates the source.

MULTI-STAGE VOICE: Revelation 1:1 explicitly gives a chain; other cases imply source → messenger → witness → institution → audience.

THE BIBLICAL AUTHENTICATION PROTOCOL

Do not authenticate by spectacle alone: Exodus counter-signs, Deuteronomy 13, Elijah at Horeb, Jesus' false-sign warnings and 2 Thessalonians all resist that shortcut.

Do not authenticate by religious title alone: Jeremiah's false prophets and New Testament false apostles use the same sacred vocabulary as accepted messengers.

Do not authenticate by Scripture quotation alone: the temptation narratives explicitly place Scripture in the tempter's mouth.

Test outcome where the text permits it: Deuteronomy 18 and Jeremiah 28 make chronology itself evidentiary.

Test moral/allegiance direction: Deuteronomy 13 rejects even a sign-worker who redirects worship.

Use multiple witnesses where available: Acts 10 pairs Cornelius and Peter; Gospel and Acts retellings allow comparison.

Preserve source ambiguity: Jacob's wrestler, the burning bush, Saul's apparition and parallel census accounts should remain pressure points rather than being prematurely harmonized.

PASS C — MAJOR IWL FINDINGS

The Bible itself does not permit the rule 'supernatural = trustworthy.' It contains rival signs, false prophets, deceptive spirits, hostile voices, ambiguous apparitions and deceptive wonders.

The recurring forensic problem is authentication, not merely identification. The question is repeatedly: how does the witness know who is speaking?

The Unknown Hand category is most useful where the text gives an effect or encounter before a stable identity: Jacob's wrestler, Joshua's commander, burning-bush messenger language, Saul's apparition and some apocalyptic intermediaries.

Speaker change is a major control point. Peter can move from praised confession to rejected counsel; human prophets can conflict; a single institution can transmit both legitimate and corrupt messages across time.

The census parallel is a crucial contradiction register item because 2 Samuel 24 and 1 Chronicles 21 use different source-attribution language for the incitement. The difference must remain visible.

Revelation's opening transmission chain demonstrates why mediation matters: claimed source, intermediary, human recorder and audience are not the same entity.

The strongest IWL rule emerging from Pass C is: authenticate the message independently of the speaker's costume. Name, title, miracle, sacred object, institutional office and even correct information can each appear in unreliable contexts.

PASS D TARGET — THE BLOOD LEDGER

Pass D should separate every major blood event by function before comparison: murder/accusation, kinship, sacrifice, protective marking, covenant ratification, purification/atonement, warfare, martyrdom, execution/crucifixion and apocalyptic blood imagery. The central test is whether IWL has been treating materially different blood functions as one symbol.
